Senior Secondary Education Project in the Republic of Uzbekistan
In order to increase employment opportunities of the youth population, the Republic of Uzbekistan has promoted the expansion of vocational high schools. For three years from 2002 to 2005, the Japanese government trained teachers and supplied equipment for 50 agricultural high schools. Two years later, UNICO conducted field studies of the effects of the support. UNICO identified several challenges in equipment maintenance, teacher training and curriculum development, and has made recommendations to both governments.
