Indonesia University Hospital Project

This is a project to enhance the medical services of the University of Indonesia, through the reinforcement of medical education and research and cooperation with other regional universities; the improvement of the faculties of medicine, dentistry, nursing and public health, and the establishment of a new university hospital. UNICO was appointed as project management consultant for this ODA project, to plan, design, assist in tendering, provide supervision for the establishment of the hospital, and draw up guidelines for the hospital, with the cooperation of universities in Japan.

Azerbaijan Oil Exploration Equipment Manufacturing Industry Revitalization Project

Although it is a core industry of Azerbaijan, the oil exploration equipment industry was losing competitiveness due to lack of international standard certification. UNICO implemented a model project to obtain international standard certification, quality assurance education and on-site training utilizing a JETRO support scheme. Supported by UNICO engineers and oil and machinery industry experts, the Oil Exploration Equipment Manufacturers Association of Azerbaijan obtained American Petroleum Industry and ISO9001-2001certifications.

Sakhalin Natural Gas Utilization Master Plan

Major companies have implemented large scale development projects on Sakhalin Island which is well endowed with natural resources such as coal, crude oil, and natural gas.　After finishing a feasibility study for the development of natural gas, UNICO drew up a comprehensive master plan including the construction of a natural gas power generation plant, surplus coal export plan, and a C1 chemical industry development plan.

Demonstrative Research on Photovoltaic Power Generation System

UNICO implemented an international joint demonstrative development project for the practical technology development, dissemination and reliability improvement of a photovoltaic system together with a joint venture partner. In the Gansu Province of China, where plentiful solar and wind energy is available, the joint venture built a hybrid power system composed of solar panels, wind turbines, and advanced maintenance-free storage batteries to test the effectiveness of the batteries and efficiency and stability of power supply to a dispersed hybrid generation system.
